Ibuprofen may contribute to antibiotic resistance

Been reading about antibiotic resistance. A bunch of non-antibiotic pills may be encouraging the swapping of genetic material between bacteria. I suppose if the rate of swapping is accelerated then it's sending resistance into overdrive. Fascinating. Additionally, these non-antibiotic pharmaceutica...

Mother Sends 5 Year Old Shopping - Returns With No Junk Food

The kid did well. They are very impressionable at that age and really rely on their parents to understand what's healthy for them. I'm guessing that the kid has watched his mother shopping before. I always believe the first 7 years of a kid's life are the most important in shaping them and their hab...

The Huawei Alternative Operating System is HarmonyOS

Yeah! Competition is going to be very high. I think it was a bad move by America. If the HarmonyOS is remarkably better than Android in every way, and it becomes insanely popular, then this ban will completely backfire. To me it seems that Huawei have some pretty big plans. lol so every other count...

Surprised that the bricklayer or concreter didn't say hey, there's an issue here. Or... maybe they did.

Clinical trial: Electric fans & Heat Index - Can Fans Increase Body Temperature & Discomfort?

So this means that some dehumidifiers are a bad then if they're used with a fan. The catch to some dehumidifiers is they make the room warmer.
Air conditioners are better anyway.

The Huawei Alternative Operating System is HarmonyOS

Huawei have confirmed the development of their own Harmony operating system. It's a cross device platform that's open source and ready to be used on phones. It supports the Android app language as well as Linux and HTML5. Apparently this operating system is 60% faster than Android. Left with little ...

Amazon Wants To Help You Buy A House - Smart Home Technology

Amazon is involved in a new collaboration called Turnkey . With 5 real estate turnkey-approved companies Amazon is providing $5,000 in Amazon credits which includes free smart home products like the Echo Dot and the Ring Doorbell Camera. I read that police networks have "partnerships" with Ring... w...

Huawei plans 'invincible' overhaul after ban

Read that after the US Ban Huawei is planning an overhaul that's compared to an "invincible iron army". It seems as though they are forging forward and using their opposition as motivation to produce innovative products, potentially products that the US population may desire. The trade ban has damag...

Capsule Hotels in Japan - Interesting Accommodation

This is so cool. I have to try this! Japan is miles ahead of Australia with everything. :) There are capsule hotels in Sydney, I've seen them. They're not like the Japanese capsules, some almost as expensive as sleeping in an actual hotel. Paying for the novelty while defeating the purpose. Cheap, ...

Gymnasium Membership Recommendations

I'd like to join a gym in the central Sydney area. I'd rather pay a monthly fee, no contract. I've heard that Anytime fitness is a popular choice, being a 24 hour gym. A pool would be a nice extra. I'd love to hear your recommendations.

Should I buy a smart watch or a fitness tracker?

I need a device to track my fitness activity and double as a watch to wear on my wrist all day.

Should I buy a smart watch or a fitness tracker? Which has better battery life?

Thanks everyone

Scones are hard when the dough is over-mixed.

I use Alton Brown's recipe, terrific chef he is. Very talented.

Fluffy scones which rise

Does anyone have a recipe for light and fluffy scones that rise, I mean high rising. Mine always come out of the oven hard and flat, still tasty. I use top quality ingredients so maybe it's my technique that's incorrect? Enlighten me on this lol. I'm sure someone knows the secret. :) Haha! It's not...

Buying an air fryer

Buy three Kmart air fryers for less than the price of one brand name fryer. That frees you up to cook 3 separate batches of meals at once - 1 potato chips, 1 sweet potato chips and 1 rosemary chips for variety. There's a definite 1 year warranty regardless of the brand and Kmart are fair with retur...
