Jony Ive leaving Apple

I read this on Saturday news. Shocking really after being there since '92. The next 1 - 2 years will show it. It won't be the same without Jony Ive.

Education Question

My youngest is learning the ins and outs of writing with a pen at school. The teacher is insisting to cross their writing out and write next to it. She does not allow any correctional tape at school. Liquid I understand, but no tape? I don't understand this. When there's a new teacher next year my k...

Do people even watch TV anymore?

I turn the TV on while my wife and I are cooking dinner for the family. I don't like touching a tablet with dirty hands.

Buying from kmart

Has anyone had experience with buying household items from kmart like rugs and lamps? ....... I love their style. !love I buy from Kmart all the time. The bean bags I bought from there were good enough for the kids. They love them. I didn't want to spend more than I had to. When they grow up I'll b...

Safety of electrical goods - help

No! Never. You're risking a house fire. I'm embarrassed to say that I've bought my fair share of cheap electrical. I've had sparks come out of cheap power boards and kettles fail to switch off. All dangerous stuff if you're not there to see it and turn it off. Scary.. Don' t buy any electrical appl...

3com audrey computer

Calling a product Audrey isn't strategic for men. If it's openly on the kitchen counter, the partner, husband or man would want to use it too. I remember that it was discontinued after less than a year on the market.

Used Vs. New RV?

Hi Shantel, You'll love having a motorhome/rv. You can stop anywhere, make a cup of tea and keep going. If you can afford new, that's always nice if you're planning on keeping it for a long time. Used is just as fine if the mileage is low. You can sometimes purchase one around 4 years old at an exc...

Used Vs. New RV?

Hi Everyone! Ordinarily, we prefer to get an RV on rent for vacations, but this time my husband just changed his mind and planning to get his own one. I was shocked in the beginning because we really don't need to buy one, but he has a plan to use it for commercial purpose in other months of the ye...

Borneo - Carpet Court

For starters cheap carpet always looks like rubbish. There's no question about that. I've had both polypropylene an wool carpet before. Polypropylene is a dream to clean compared to wool carpet so would do a young family well. Wool is more expensive, lasts longer and doesn't have the nasty plastic s...

Do you leave your pet in dark?

Hi Everyone! I don't have any experience of raising a pet, but a few days ago, on the demand of my 4 years old son, we got a bulldog. I have a habit to turn off all light at night but I just found this article https://ourfitpets.com/behavior/should-you-leave-your-dog-in-the-dark/. According to this...

choosing a mobile phone for kids

I think you would have to give them smartphones but yes, there are several apps from which you can track their activity. By the way, what is the age of your kids? Maybe then we would able to give you the right piece of advice. Thanks, I should have been clearer. They're aged 8 and 9 (going on 10 la...

70th Anniversary of "1984" by George Orwell

I've seen the film adaptation. Absolutely brilliant. I liked how how Winston trudged through old objects to feel the beauty of the past.
