how to choose a camping jacket

Hey there, I'm having this issue where my current jackets aren't warm enough. I need lightweight and cozy jackets for camping out in the sticks this winter. I've read that hardshell is better than softshell for windy conditions but then softshell is breathable if I sweat. Should I have both on hand?

Coleman 4 man Tent

Hey there, Does anyone have experience with Coleman tents? Are they good quality? Is a 4 man tent spacious enough for 3 people? Been looking at this one from Anaconda. Let me know if you think there's a better option. https://www.anacondastores.com/camping-hiking/tents/camping-tents/coleman-instant-u...

I don't trust health star ratings. I remember there was a time that I saw a low health star rating for honey, and that was the end for me.
I noticed the same thing. Sugary cereal ranked higher.

Safety of electrical goods - help

No! Never. You're risking a house fire. I'm embarrassed to say that I've bought my fair share of cheap electrical. I've had sparks come out of cheap power boards and kettles fail to switch off. All dangerous stuff if you're not there to see it and turn it off. Scary.. Don' t buy any electrical appl...

Manual vs Automatic

Manual is horrible to use in a congested city with gears and the clutch. first gear, second gear, third gear, (now there's a corner) second gear, first gear (onto a street) first gear, second gear, third gear (now there's congestion), second gear, stop.

Safety of electrical goods - help

Not sure whether to post this under home improvement. My apologies if im wrong. My toaster doesn't evenly toast anymore after I did some damage last week while cleaning out a thick crust that got caught inside of it. It's my fault for toasting half ripped pieces of bread. Anyway the inside element ...

Nespresso Question

Well, yes there's that. Then there's the energy required to manufacture and recycle the pods. And it gets worse: Made of a mixture of plastic and other materials, coffee pods are so small that most recycling facilities are unable to process them. Most end up in landfills, where they take 150–500 ye...

Nespresso Question

After twenty years of having drip coffee, I'm thinking of buying a nespresso machine. Does anyone know what it tastes like? Is it good? Tastes like coffee, as coffee does, but with a selection of pods with added flavors for different tastes. I dislike pod systems for many reasons. Mainly because co...

Help - Nosy Neighbours - Need ideas

My existing fencing is not providing me enough privacy. Council won't allow any fence taller than my current one (1.8m). Due to the nature of the landscape 1.8m isn't tall enough. They can see straight into my property and seem to enjoy it. Going outside into the yard to relax and read my tablet is ...

Probably best to buy flat pack IKEA furniture again. Getting any premade cabinets, tables etc is way too difficult up the lift and wouldn't even fit.
